PROJECT COMPLETE
Background:
The PowerPack Picos for the Yine Tribe in Peru are on their way. With your help we were able to raise the funds to give all 1,250 families in all 32 villages their very own copy of God’s Word in an audible, dramatized form. They who have never known about Christ will now be able to HEAR His message to them in their own language. And in addition, we were able to install a personal witness by a Peruvian tribal preacher who speaks their language. So, when they press the button to turn it on, the first thing they will hear is a Gospel presentation, explaining who Christ is, why He came to earth and how to accept Him as their only God. After that the scriptures begin ….
What happens when the battery runs out? Each of these villages usually have about 39 huts that are within a few yards of each other. We are giving a solar-powered battery charger to each village that will be kept at the head-man’s hut. And our network of national and tribal preachers that will trek to each village to disperse the Picos, will also give instruction them on how to turn it on, turn it off and recharge it. They will do that over and over until the process is learned.
Getting the Gospel to the Yine is the first step in getting them saved. The next step will be sending these same preachers back to the villages, over and over, evangelizing and discipling the converts, establishing village churches and training the Yine men for the ministry. Until now, the Yine have been an unreached people group. One of about 6,500 that remain on the earth. They are not the first that Final Frontiers has reached, nor will they be the last.
Now what?
Currently, in this same year, we are trying to reach a second unreached tribe, the Tolupan of Honduras, who are the last unreached tribe of that country. To do that, we need your help.
For years we have made contact with the Tolupan, becoming close friends with their two chiefs. By taking many of our Visionary Trip groups to meet them, we have gained access to their entire tribe. We have recently compiled the demographic data showing us not only how many villages they have hidden high in the mountains, but where they are, and how many families live in each village. Our goal is to produce and manufacture special audio Bibles in the Tol language and give one to each household. These are a bit larger and have a solar panel attached to them, as well as a hand crank and each unit has a built-in flashlight. So, this is a tool they can take anywhere and recharge at any time.
As always, each unit will come pre-loaded with the Word of God and a clear Gospel presentation in the Tol language, but these will also have Spanish scriptures as well since many are partially bi-lingual. We need to purchase 600 of these units. (usually 3-6 families share a household) We have already arranged for the men to help us deliver them as volunteers from the Tolupan who will travel with us for days into the jungle to deliver each unit. This will take a month or more to complete. (Interested in helping?)
Typically, if the Tolupan see a foreigner coming, they burn their stick houses and move higher up on the mountain. They think that foreigners are Conquistadors who are coming to burn, rape and pillage as they did to their forefathers. Having our Tolupan friends go with us and before us, will eliminate this concern and we should find them friendly and eagerly awaiting our arrival and these gift of God’s Word. In addition, I have two Honduran pastors who will help us to train Tolupan men who want to serve God as pastors. All this should take place sometime between July and October, before we head off to India.
